CO2/SO2-Process
Revolutionary process for catalytic removal of CO2 and SO2 from waste gas
WO 2011/138425 A1
Typical waste gas inlet parameters:
SO2 content | up to 1 vol.% |
CO2 content | up to 30 vol.% |
Temperature | up to 80°C, inlet reactor |
Typical clean gas outlet parameters:
SO2 content | ≤50 mg/Nm³ |
CO2 content | 0 vol. % |
The raw gas travels through an activated carbon catalyst fixed bed reactor. The SO2 is converted to H2SO4 by wet catalysis in the presence of oxygen and water. Simultaneously, the CO2 contained in the gas reacts with the SO2 and forms carbonaceous products, e.g. fertilizer, as well as sulphuric acid or sulphate salts.
The by-products may be further used.
